MLB | Rays vs Blue Jays

Play on: Rays -105 at betus

Rays vs Blue Jays Free Pick

The Angle(s): Rays righty Drew Rasmussen (7-5, 3.26 ERA) has a proven track record of neutralizing the heart of Toronto's lineup, limiting current Blue Jays hitters to a .232 average in 109 career plate appearances against them, including a .095 mark (2-for-21) with four strikeouts against George Springer.

Toronto counters with Kevin Gausman (4-8, 4.33 ERA), who has historically struggled against this specific Rays roster. Tampa Bay hitters are batting a collective .367 against Gausman in 116 career plate appearances, with Yandy Díaz (.389 in 20 PA) and Jonathan Aranda (.500 in 11 PA) both seeing the ball extremely well off him.

The Bet: Rays (3%).

MLB | Nationals vs Rockies

Play on: Rockies +109 at Buckeye

This is a play on the COLORADO ROCKIES for our Monday Free Play. Washington took two of three against the skidding Athletics and is just two games out of the final Wild Card spot in the National League. The Nationals have been a better road team this season but this is Coors Field where anything can happen. The Rockies took the middle game of their three-game series with the Reds and they continue to be respectable at home where they are 23-27 and those are only two fewer wins than all of last season. Kyle Freeland is coming off a pair of poor starts to end the first half but both of those were on the road and he has actually fared better this season at Coors Field. We are not saying it has been good by any stretch but he is on an equal playing field tonight as far as pitching goes. Andrew Alvarez has split time between starting and long relief and neither has been great with his 4.04 ERA and while has been better on the road with his 2.45 ERA, it has only been in 18.2 innings and not in Colorado. Play (908) Colorado Rockies

For years the WCHR and ECHR have been know for our debut winners....Yesterday's opener featured a $19 first timer, today's debut winner returned $28.....

FIRST RACE:  Things begin with a Maiden Special Weight at 5 ½ furlongs on the TURF. Top selection is SHIRL’S SOUL TOWN (#1). He debuts for Rice, a 4 year old by Speightstown, and what’s interesting is that the connections have obviously liked their decision when it came to breeding to this one’s mare, breeding to Bee Jersey three times, Speightstown three times, and twice to More Than Ready. This tells us the runners have looked good, put together well, prompting ‘em to go back multiple times to these particular stallions. Back around 2002, I wrote an article for American Turf Monthly entitled “The Odd Equals Beware,” where I discussed the odd path a horse can take to his or her debut, and we like this one’s path - The Thoroughbred Center, Belmont, now up at Saratoga, a plan in place heading into this first effort upstate with solid turf jock Jose Ortiz taking the call.
