Real life example for tmw: Wrexham is +240 ML as the away team vs Blackburn. Both teams are close in the table, but Wrexham seems to be in better form, so you can take a double chance bet at -140. If they win or tie, you win at -140 odds.

I see it like this: Double chance is betting on a team to win or tie. You are covering 2 of the 3 possible outcomes of a match, so the odds are not as good. Typically when you see -.5, -1, etc. that is an Asian Handicap bet. So if I take Man City -1 Asian Handicap, they have to win by 2 for the bet to win. A bet that is -1 or -2 essentially gives the opposing team a 1 or 2 goal lead before the match even starts. Hope that helps.
